| Lyrics |
In a smoky old bar, I found a seat
Been travelin' for days, thirsty and beat
Over my glass, I saw your face
You say at first, you weren't amazed
But Cupid or God were sure to impress
Me unshaved, and you in that summer dress
I was far from home, you were alone,
Someone above knew it's gonna be a success.....
[Chorus]
Ma said "you never find a wife in a bar",
But I saw you and said, "there you are!",
As if me and you met long time back
Then joined like stars in the zodiac
Who knew I'd find by chance...my
Wife in a bar....
Man, the bar lit up, when you smiled at me,
Thought the moon had floated over Bourbon Street
You weren't looking for me, but there I was
We weren't gamblers, yet we beat the odds
I swear there was something 'bout the way you looked
Shook your hair loose, I was hooked,
Around two o'clock, when we walked out
My heart beatin' like it would never stop.
REPEAT CHORUS
We got married in 2003, survived Katrina and crushed levees
Our bar's disappeared, but you're still here,
Smilin' and givin' me my beer
REPEAT CHORUS
That smoky old New Orleans bar...... |
