V1
I know you have a story, I know you feel some pain
I know your heart's been broken, you're riding that midnight train
Well, don't you feel left out, tonight you're not alone
Your old friends they will surely guide you home
CHORUS
Five beers ago you were such a drag
Five beers ago you were looking really sad
You were such a sorry Joe, hurtin' from head to toe
But that was five beers ago
V2
Now you've been kicked around, it's an old old tale
The waves crashed around you, you held onto the rail
You weathered the storm, pulled the thorn from the rose
From now on let those suds tickle your nose
CHORUS
Five beers ago you were such a drag
Five beers ago you were looking really sad
You were such a sorry Joe, hurtin' from head to toe
But that was five beers ago
[INSTRUMENTAL]
BRIDGE
Remember we all love you, even if you can't stand
As long as there's a cold brew sitting in your hand
V3
Don't wait until you're older, start living for today
Don't let that past control yah, there's a much better way
Find a shoulder to lean on, your face into the sun
Bartender, get a round for everyone
CHORUS
Five beers ago you were such a drag
Five beers ago you were looking really sad
You were such a sorry Joe, hurtin' from head to toe
But that was five beers ago
[SHORT INSTRUMENTAL]
Five beers ago you were such a drag
Five beers ago you were looking really sad
You were such a sorry Joe, hurtin' from head to toe
But that was five beers ago
That was five beers ago
That was five beers ago |
